    Description: Twelfth Night Celebration

    Join Louth & District Concert Society and Allegro Appassionato in a shared musical celebration of The Twelfth Night of Christmas.

    We hope you will enjoy a relaxed afternoon of music performed by some of our very finest locally based artists.

    Share a glass of wine, a cup of tea or coffee, and as the words of the Bard direct us..... "If music be the food of love, play on"



    LDCS will present:

    Caroline Siriwardena (violin)
    Nigel Morley (piano)


    Over the past three decades Caroline has led a number of Lincolnshire orchestras and currently leads Lincoln Symphony Orchestra, Lincolnshire Chamber Orchestra and Lincoln Pro Musica as well as previously leading Lincolnshire Philharmonia, teaching and freelancing with Sinfonia Viva, Opera North and the Orchestra of the Swan. In addition she performs regularly as a soloist with orchestras around the country.  Caroline plays a violin made by Eugenio Degani of Venice in 1874.

    Nigel is currently Musical Director and Principal Conductor for Boston Sinfonia.  In addition to numerous TV and radio performances, Nigel has worked with the City of Birmingham Symphony Chorus, Birmingham Touring Opera, and in 2007 was appointed conductor of the Lincolnshire Youth Orchestra.  He founded the Midland Sinfonia in 1995, continuing as principal conductor until 2008, and has held the post of Director of Conducting at Keele University.

     
    Caroline and Nigel will perform:
     
    Mozart Sonata in A KV 305: Allegro di molto  -  Thema and Variations
     
    Brahms Sonata in G: Opus 78: Vivace ma non troppo  -  Adagio  -  Allegro molto moderato




     


    Allegro Appassionato will present:

    Silverwood, flute, viola, violin and cello.
